The End of GOT7

So contract renewals for GOT7 are up and a lot of news outlets are reporting that the members of GOT7 are going to be signing with other agencies. Jinyoung has reportedly been in talks with BH Entertainment to continue his acting career and Yugyeom has reportedly been in talks with AOMG Entertainment to pursue a solo career. There have been no official statements from JYP Entertainment regarding whether all members are going to renew or otherwise, but various GOT7 members have been tweeting their support for all members to stick together.

Mark's Tweet about GOT7 staying as seven

What does this mean for GOT7?

It seems like GOT7 wants to continue promoting together as seven members but it does not look like they want to renew their contracts with JYP Entertainment, which in my opinion is very fair considering the lack of support they have received from the company. Compared to the promotion of Twice, GOT7 has had very few comebacks comparably and if you're not following any GOT7 members on social media, their comebacks honestly just fly under the radar because JYP has not given them proper promotions.

With that being said it looks like the GOT7 members will all be signing with different companies but would like to get together to promote if time allows. However JYP has trademarked the name GOT7 until 2024 so even if they did get together to promote it would have to be under a different name, (maybe they can go the B2ST to Highlight route?). Brown Eyed Girls managed to reunite despite being under different agencies, and the same has occurred with a few other idol groups too (S.E.S, Shinhwa). However the same has also occurred where the members go their own way and end up never reuniting for promotions other than just a quick SNS update (Girl's Day, SNSD).

Personally given the different directions the members will most likely be taking, Jinyoung going into acting, Jackson going to China and continuing his so far very successful solo career over there, Mark most likely going back to Los Angeles and continuing his music career similar to that of Amber and so forth. With all the members headed in very different directions and potentially locations I think it's safe to say that this is the end of GOT7. They've had a great career with awesome music and performances and hopefully they prove me wrong continue together as seven, but we will have to see.
